Land Acknowledgement.

I have the privilege to live & work on Turtle Island, primarily in the land of the Dish with One Spoon treaty, the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, Neutral, Anishnaabe & Haudenoshaunee peoples. I acknowledge with gratitude & humility the traditional stewards of the lands & waters of this place that sustains us.

Wherever we are, we are on the land; and the internet is no ‘cloud,’ no disembodied space: it is material; its sustenance requires resources & cooperation; and what is shared in this space is of consequence. Let us work together to keep this space safe & affirming, a space of generous listening & careful speaking.

I am grateful for all those who support me in my work, my family, friends, teachers & colleagues.

I am grateful for the communities in which I live & teach & make music.

I am grateful to the institutions & individuals who maintain the spaces in which teaching & learning happen and out of which work emerges.

I am grateful for the privilege to listen & to sing.
